1) The CATO Institute and Time Magazine appear to have conflicting reports about high school dropout rates. Summarize both the readings. According to the CATO Institute, the Time's article has many flaws. What are they? Which article do you find more persuasive? Why?

2) After reading both U.S. security articles, do you think the U.S. is safe from serious threats? What significance do Norty Korea, Russia, China, Iran, and Iraq have in reference to U.S. security. Which article do you find more persuasive? Why?

3) Francis Fukuyama contends that men are more aggressive due to the social construction of our culture. Conversely, Caprioli uses the gender gap to demonstrate that men and women are essentially equal. Using textual evidence, explain which of the two arguments you found to be more peruasive. Why?
